UDSU Women’s Campaign Terms Of Reference.
Purpose of Committee: There will be a Women’s Campaign that will fight to extend and defend the rights of Women Students at the University of Derby.
Aims and Objectives:
The Women’s Campaign will represent women students on issues effecting Women students.
The Campaign will fight against discrimination and oppression that effects Women students both in education and within the wider community.
The Campaign will formulate policy effecting Women students.
Membership of the Campaign:
The Women’s Campaign will be open to anyone who self defines as a woman.
Membership will be open only to members of the UDSU and those who self define as women.
The Campaign will elect 1 officer to lead the campaign. The title of this representative is the Women’s Officer and they will be a full member of the Union Executive Committee.
Meeting Arrangements and Frequency:
The Women’s Campaign will meet at least once a semester prior to union council.
The campaign may meet more frequently than this at the discretion of the campaign.
All meetings of the campaign must be agreed by the Women’s Officer and advertised at least 14 days in advance.
Policy:
The Women’s Campaign will debate policy that affects Women Students.
The Campaign must submit all policy that is passed regarding the internal organisation of the campaign to union council to be noted.
The Campaign must submit all other policies passed by the campaign to union council for ratification.










































Its appalling that even in this day and age and after all these years, that women in work are NOT treated equally. Many times women are asked to perform duties on an equal footing with men and probably have far more to lose. Most women these days have children, a home to look after and hold down a job. Why then are men paid far more for doing far less? Children in High Schools are encouraged to participate in activities once thought of as gender related; Im cetain that those same expectations of equality will follow once they are at work. What a shame that the girls will be sorely dissapointed and find that given opportunities to work in a mans world, they will not recieve the same recogntion and pay as men.
